Robinhood, a commission-free trading platform, is proposing to build its shop in the United Kingdom. The intention was transmitted via a blog post on November 2019. The platform hit a USD 7.6 billion valuationS which prompted it to reach that decision.
Moreover, Robinhood just concluded another fundraising that raised up to USD 323 million.
The blogpost and communication via Twitter did not lay down the specific date for the launch. However, a UK broker license was already handed to the platform. According to TechCrunch, Robinhood has been ‘silently’ recruiting employees for the London office since January. Robinhood was also said to have employed Wander Rutgers from TransferWise and Plum to head the UK brunch according to Quartz.
