As per Reuters, a People’s Bank of China official, gave comments regarding the country’s digital currency proposition. The official said that the digital currency has to observe all existing rules for cash and forex management. The digital currency is aiming to substitute paper currency and has no implication on monetary policy, the official added. Regarding stablecoins, the official noted that such coins accepted in the country will need to observe foreign exchange rules.
